Business Credit

I got this in one of my comments:

I run a small ad agency and recently released an advertisement for a school called India international school and gave them 10 days credit period for payment to the release. The Chairman had promised and committed to pay my dues within 10 days and now is absconding. Nobody from the school is responding. what should i do ?

Well I dont know if this falls under the gamut of Consumer laws. My guess would be this is a business dispute and you will have to take it up with the school as this is a part of a business contract. Contact a good lawyer.

Thinking of buying an LG product? Think Twice! Their Service is HORRIBLE!

LG is probably one of the most aggressive FMCG in the market and also an innovator on it products. The price band is also competitive and in wide range with depending on the model with good affordability for different segments of society.

So far so good; now lets talk about the service. It is one of the horrible. It has happened with me not once but twice in last one year. I own a front loading fully automatic washing machine purchased about 4 years back. It stopped about a year back and it took me one month to get it repaired from LG that too after making numerous calls, e-mails and shelling out Rs.2500/-. I made the complaint on the helpline and they promise to send the service engineer in 24 hrs, but he appeared after one week and several reminders. Upon checking the machine, he actually could not make out the fault and I was never sure that he knew his job. He simply declared that the timer of the machine is faulty, based on his gut feeling rather than on any technical capabilities. Even though he could not solve our problem, he charged us about Rs.400/- for his visit and disappeared with a promise to come back with timer in a day of so. Thereafter, it started endless game of chasing and my wife was calling the service centre practically everyday for next 10 days and kept getting false commitments. We had to make a written compliant to the Regional Manager on whose intervention the service Engg again appeared with a new timer. On changing the timer, machine still did not work and the service engineer was completely at loss. He went back and turned after two days to check again to find some minor fault in connections. It took us 20 days to get the machine in working order.

As they say, history repeats, my machine has conked again about 15 days back and the same story is unwinding. Today I have made a written compliant to LG Regional Manager to look into, hope problem gets resolved in next week or so.

To conclude, think twice it can be a really harrowing experience to get service from LG.
