ATMs and Transactions

There have been a lot of complaints on ATM transactions that failed, but the consumer's account is still debited. The following are some of the recent comments I have got on this subject:

I had withdrawan Rs 400 from Bank of Baroda using ICICI ATM card. It was shown : Unsucessful transaction . But money is debited from a/c . I lodged complain with ICICI .More than 2 months passed . Nothing happened . If any concern person is reading all these comments they must do some action on irresponsible banks.

two days before I used my HDFC card to withdraw money from SBI ATM The ATM machine said transaction Time OUT but the amount (Rs 10000) was debited from my account.is there any chance for getting money? i laredy raise complaint

I tried to withdraw Rs 5000/- from citibank ATM using my ABN Amro debit card. It didn't give the money. My account was debited Rs 5000/-. I lodged a complaint in ABN Amro bank 2 and half months ago. They enquired with citibank and they told me that it was a successful transaction. They showed me some rolls which were showing it was a successful transaction eventhough I didn't get money from machine. Please anybody advice me what I have to do to get back my money.

I (Jyoti Srivastava) wish to inform you that I have a Saving Bank A/c.No.06840100016129 in your bank. I have also an ATM cum debit card of your bank. In this regard I wish to you inform you that I withdrawn Rs.4,000.00 from your ATM of Aliganj branch on 02/02/2009 but first time when I entered the amount in ATM the matchine got hanged and message shown on screen that “your transaction have been cancelled” then I tried again to withdraw the same amount, at this time ATM given me required amount, but later when we updated my passbook the amount of Rs.4,000.00 debited twice.

In this regard I request you to kindly arrange to credit Rs.4,000.00 in my above said S.B.A/c. at the earliest, which is wrongly debited by ATM on 02/02/2009.


Your early action in this matter will be highly appreciated.

BEWARE OF ICICI

ICICI Account holders be CAREFULL

ICICI Account holders be carefull when you invest your hard earn money with ICICI.
Most of the time ICICI ATM doesn't function/operate.When you withdraw cash in non icici atm transaction will be made and shown in slip & account but money doesnot get transferred.TO PAY BACK YOUR OWN MONEY ICICI TAKES MINIMUM 1 MONTH IN THEIR WORDS.but actually it takes months n months & months....
When u swipe your card most of the time its double swipes & they take three working days to credit YOUR MONEY back to account.

Its not with 1 or 2 account holders its with most of the ICICI Account holders.So please be carefull when you invest your money in ICICI BANK.

Recent incident
Myself SUNIL ABHICHANDANI tried to withdraw money from ICICI ATM it was not functional.so tried to withdraw money from NON ICICI BANK.Transaction slip came out money was not released from ATM this happend found the same amount missing from the account on 08/04/2009 & the amount was 20000/-.Complaint was registered in Indiran nagar branch,they asked me to wait for 8 working days.I visited bank on 10th day they were not in condition to identify the issue, solution is far away.there were about 6 representitives spoke in such a way that 20000 is not a big money or these incidents are casual. Branch Manager Mr.Nisar asked me to wait for 3 days when I said I am in need for money.after 3 days I vsited still the answer was same & he asked to visit after 3days.Finally ICICI Indiranagar Branch Manager says "I am DOING A FAVOR TO YOU BY SOLVING THE ISSUE".so I don't know ICICI is paying salary or he is doing charity to bank & customers!!!.Branch manager & his subordinates says "COME ALONE IF YOU WANT SOLUTION AS YOUR WIFE IS SHOUTING" I think after loosing 20000 anybody will shout & its news that ICICI doesn't allow spouse to come along to the brach!! till now I have not got money from bank or any confirmation on my money & no confirmed date to get MY MONEY BACK!!.with this kind of response I don't know I can get my money back or not.

Please forward it to your dear & near one's to keep their money safe & not to Deposit in ICICI Account

Hi,
This natraj from chennai i too faced like this problem.once i was withdrawn 3000 from canara bank atm in chennai parrys.at that time i got call from my friend so delayed to take my amount from atm.then it go inside to the atm itself.then i went to near by atm.from their i contact the icici bank customer care i made a complaint with all information like wat time wat atm etc...then they given me a complaint number and after my two month follow up to the customer care with that number i got my money back.
